Software acquired: 3D Studio R4c1 (works perfectly!) 3D Studio MAX R3 (works perfectly!) 3D Studio MAX R4 (having some trouble) Requested: Nothing yet. Maybe i have to rename the topic, if i'm not only focusing on 3D Studio MAX. Feel free to upload any kind of 3D software, but there are some 'requirements': - Versions from 1990 - 2000 - Compatible with MS-DOS or Windows - That's it! Update: Oh and one more thing: NO WAREZ! So the patch is useless - and more importantly - not needed. Next: Running that PATCHV2.EXE against the "3dsmax.exe" that installer places will result in "incorrect file size, or file not found" by the patcher.

That's because it is version 1.1 and it needs certain. Use the "3dsmax.exe" sitting in the root of those files - and you will get an "export to xxxx.dll error (I already forgot the exact dll). I am now unfortunately an expert on horseshit. Over & over until I found out what worked and what didn't. The original DOD release looked nothing like that. It's a completely barfed up, kiddies with sticky fingers mess. Here's the deal: That "PATCHV2.EXE" is for the 1.1 upgrade, as is that "3dsmax.exe".
